Cascavel is a promising young city, the state of Parana in southern Brazil. With its 300 000 inhabitants, consolidated its position as a regional economic center and the epicenter of Mercosur. The city stands out as a campus, with more than 21 000 students in seven higher education institutions of learning. It is also in medicine and reference services. Its major trade and industrial infrastructure and services all show technological greatness of the city. The forces that made Cascavel a regional center are also linked to agribusiness, from the presence of agro-industrial cultures, through the commercialization and development of service offering increasingly specialized. Only in the poultry sector, one of the most expressive of the region, more than 2 million birds are slaughtered daily. It stands out nationally and internationally in individual and team sports such as canoeing, car racing, handball, futsal and athletics. Cascavel Parana has a professional soccer title (1980) and three Professional Futsal Paraná titles (2003, 2004 and 2005).
