The Medical University of Lublin is located in the historical city of Lublin. It is the biggest city on the right bank of the Vistula River and the most important metropolis in the Southern East part of the country. The teaching of medicine and pharmacy in Lublin can be connected with the opening of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in 1944. Both faculties were educating young people at UMCS for over 5 years until they were separated to form Medical University in 1950. From the very beginning our university was connected with the brilliant representatives of Polish medicine: Ludwik Hirszfeld- one of the co-discoverers of the inheritance of ABO blood type, professor Tadeusz Krawicz- the creator of the crioophtalmology or Stanisław Burzyński, MD- author of the theory of treatment cancers. Nowadays Medical University in Lublin employs almost 100 professors, almost 90 habilitated doctors and 700 Ph.Ds. Many of our masters are well-known specialists, e.g. in neurosurgery or in transplantation. Many of our masters are well-known specialists, e.g. prof. Tomasz Trojanowski, the neurosurgeon. Lublin is also the most important health center in transplantology of the kidneys.

There are 9 hospitals in Lublin, including 3 didactics hospitals where the SCOPE Professional Exchange works. University faculty, students, and staff strive to expand existing knowledge in the field of scientific inquiry which contributes to issue a remarkable amount of publications, case reports, and series studies. Medical University in Lublin serves as a resource for promoting the individual and professional growth and development of students not only from Europe, but also from the United States and Asia, which results in becoming an educational landmark in the region. The past, heritage, tradition of intellectual thought and the magical atmosphere of the city of Lublin are the sources of inspiration for culture, art and science. Bearing in mind that such multicultural grounds shaped the social and cultural life of this metropolis and remembering the past when the times of prosperity met with the times of exchange and openness, Lublin tries to renew these traditions. It wants to be a city of tolerance and hospitality.
